Worse at its best…

The whole year of 2008 was really bad for me. There’s some misunderstanding with my friends that ended up as ‘not being friends’ anymore. And also that year, I’ve lost my special friend, my love… my boyfriend.

I’ve been dreaming of being on a band ever since I was in high school. Male vocalist of every band like Chicosci, Dashboard Confessional, Anthem of our dying days – all foreign rock bands, was a dream guy for me.

Two years ago, I’ve never thought that a stranger in a mall would be the guy that I‘ve love almost a year back then.

March 2008, simple and yet I consider it as the best event happen to me that year. Joseph Chavez is my special friend, my love… my boyfriend. He is a drummer in their band, “Iskargu”. As a celebration for our first year anniversary, he invited me to watch their band’s first ever gig at Dayo Bar in Cubao. Aside from watching their band performing, especially him, I am also excited for the fact that another great band like Zelle and Giniling Festival will perform that night.

Time flies so fast that night. It is 11 o’clock in the evening when they perform. Luckily, they got a chance performing twice in one night, 3 songs per round.

the drummer boy.

the drummer boy.

As they perform, I watch him hit the drums and sing along with their vocalist. “My Hero” by Foo Fighters is one of the songs they perform.
“There goes my hero, he’s ordinary…”
(from the song My Hero by Foo Fighters)

Maybe in the eyes of someone he is ordinary but for me he is not. He’s always been there for me. He sings for me when I’m down, he never fails to cheer me up with the way he screams like a metal rock star.

Year 2008 is a tough year for both of us. There are lots of misunderstanding in our relationship that in the end we decided to cool it off. Like the way it is expected, we broke up.

Though we’re apart, yet he is still there… not just a friend, but a special friend for me again. Loosing Joseph as a partner in life in 2008 was worse, but letting me feel so loved by him is the best thing that ever happen to me in 2008.

Two successful love stories have been read on this site. But yours is the heart breaker of them all. Perhaps, you were not made for each other. But don’t sulk. With so many other guys around, I am sure, you’ll be fine. But while you are licking your heart wounds, please mind the grammar. The article will read better when the words and structures are okay. wow, fitz! (just like migz) so surprised! you were never open about relationship. sometimes, it seems to me that you are avoiding this topic. I understand, really. coz at some point, i was also not comfortable sharing my thoughts and feelings about my Lam until my heart can’t hold it anymore…
anyway, there are some thing that is not just meant to be. But sometimes we have to go through a hard time so we can appreciate the better ones that would come.
This one is good. I’ll give you 90 for this.

I was really surprised on what you wrote because you never talk about your love life. Soon enough, you will find the right guy for you. Maybe he’s not a musician that you’ve been dreaming of but who knows? He could be the one for you. I think a college basketball player who wears jersey number 7 or 14 would do. So, who’s your baby now? Mine is 7.haha

hehe.. what a nice and sad article you have.. It is really surprising that you give us a chance to know some glimpse of your love story happened last year.- (because it is not obvious that you have one girl.. =D you look like a friend material for me.)

Although you both didn’t end up with a good ending, still i’m happy for you that you two are still friends. The communication is still intact, as well as the person–He still there for you ready to support always..

there were some flows that needs to be polish but all in all, the story is quite short, yet easy to undersatnd.

Wow! Fitz, it’s the first time that you’ve open up your love life in public. You hardly spoke when it comes to your feelings.

There’s still a chance for both of you, you know. If you and Joseph are meant for each other, you’ll end up being together. For now, just enjoy your life and be happy with that special friendship that both of you have.

    Nice one! A 90% for you! c:

Oh yeah! Just like you, I also consider the year 2008 as a not-so-good year. But of course, God doesn’t want us to sulk and wallow just because something bad or sad has happened. Maybe Joseph isn’t really for you. But I’m glad he made you feel loved the way you wanted. I can feel it in your article. If you still love him, I guess you just have to be patient. My goodness, you’re too young. Who knows, maybe one day (at the right time) he comes knocking on your door and says, “Hey, Fitz wanna watch rock concert with me?”

    I give you 92. :)

There are many saints in the ocean, oh! I mean many fish, hehe. I am amazed on how you surprise me everytime you post your article. Your always revealing something, that’s interesting! Be patient and pray, dream boy will come on your way someday!

be, is that you? i’ve always known you as the one who curses me whenever i talked about mushy stuff. L-O-V-E has really never failed to bring out unexpected things from seemingly stoic people. :) haha

don’t worry, you’ll meet more saints. keep on rocking!

I’ll say one thing about Joseph. He’s the complete package. He’s the best and worst of 2008 right?! Being that busy I see how he must have lost time for you.

I’m sorry it didn’t work out. Anyway it only shows he no saint afterall. So no need fretting over bad and old music and it’s time for you to dance to a new tune.

Furthermore, you shouldn’t allow your heartaches to distract you from crafting a masterpiece. Mind your sentence construction. Sometimes the choice between the passive and active voice could work wonders for a write-up’s appeal. Sing to the better melody of 90.

oh, i never thought or should i say i didn’t really expect that a person like you would post this love article that narrates your love life of course…wait i’m getting too redundant, i guess that’s the effect of your article on me. like what i’ve always been saying, proofreading an article before posting it will do all the tricks. 87 for you.
